Heya Babes!
It’s been stormy and muggy here this past week. There is nothing quite like the Poconos in the summer. You wear the air, and it’s exhausting. I would like to say I glisten, but that would be a lie. I sweat profusely, and it’s unbecoming.
I’m still working on At Any Cost. I just complained about the weather, but here is where I admit to writing outside on my patio. I’m only able to concentrate yo much before I lose it. (Yes, I mean yo.) That means I’m writing less, but it’s giving me time to develop the story more. Here’s a little snippet of what I’m currently working on!

This year hasn’t allowed for very much traveling, but I’m looking forward to the 4th of July in Gettysburg. I have been told not to go into town or the battlefield that day, but I can’t help but think it might be a really cool place to see fireworks. Next month marks the start of signing season for me, and my first con is Tales As Dark As Time in Hershey, Pennsylvania. I love that it’s close to home because August is an insane amount of travel, and I need to chill before two weeks spent traveling through several states.

Book Recommendations
Below are recommendations for what I’m reading now. I just found Ainsley Booth’s books, and they are gobble-able!

Beauty and the Blitz: A Sports Romance (Touchdowns and Tiaras Book 1)
Shatter the slipper. Spit out the apple. Fall for The Beast.
All-star linebacker Cole Hawthorne is a beast on the field, destroying offenses one broken quarterback at a time. Though he’s a gifted athlete, his violent reputation makes him a liability to his team and a villain in the league.
As Cole’s agent, it’s my responsibility to convince the brooding loner that being traded is better than getting banished from the game. If he loses his contract, this single mom is out of a job. So, it’s up to me to tame the beast. But the closer I get to the ferocious monster, the harder I fall for the passionate man underneath. He’s crude and charming. Tough and sweet. Dangerous…but even he can’t resist my baby’s giggle.
Denying my feelings might protect my heart, but the trading deadline is closing in. When Cole reveals the dirty truth about the trade, I can’t let the league rip us apart. Do I save my career…or do I protect a man who deserves a happily ever after?
Maybe no one can love a beast… But they haven’t met Cole Hawthorne.

The Nanny Goal (Off The Ice Book 4)
When I first met her, I was just her brother’s best friend and a hockey player. Then I was the secret fling who broke her heart. Now I’m a single dad … and her new boss.
On the best and worst night of my life, I left the perfect girl alone in a hotel room, confused and angry. Since then, Emery Granger has ignored me, despite the fact that our families are friends and I would do anything to have a second chance with her.
When we're thrown together again, it's in the worst way possible—with me needing an emergency nanny, and my daughter immediately attaching herself to the last woman I got to third base with, making Emery the reluctant best candidate for the job.
No matter what happened in the past, I will always put being a good father first. My feelings for the nanny? Irrelevant. Impossible.
Which is a challenge, because the nanny herself? Irresistible.

Bred By Sor'en: An Alien Romance (The Solar Breeding Agency Book 3)
Humanity is desperate, scattered amongst the stars at the mercy of the planets that will have us, but mostly we have nothing. No hope, no prospects, nothing. Poverty, crime, disease, we’re the running joke among the highly advanced alien species that surround us. We’re desperate, all of us, but we’re not entirely without worth… without use. Humans are still good for cheap labor and entertainment, oh and breeding. Human women are great for breeding. That’s where the Solar Breeding Agency comes in. For a hefty fee and a dowry paid to our families, an alien in need of a surrogate can buy us.
Hue- Growing up as a human in an alien dominated universe is the definition of getting the “short end of the stick” now add in being orphaned as an infant and shoved into an overcrowded home for abandoned alien children, my stick is pretty much a nub by twenty. I learned early on, survival means running, lying and oftentimes stealing just enough to keep the cold from the space port survivable. This galaxy isn’t made with humans in mind. So when I saw an ad for the Solar Breeding Agency it seemed like an easy enough mark.
Get the dowry, get off planet, disappear all before whatever unfortunate species buys me can get me on my back. I have no intention of being bred. No intention of uploading my end of the contract but of course my stick gets even shorter.
Intergalactic Law 7.3.1: The Sentient Bond Recognition Act says I’m his legally. Go figure because as most dangerous species known to the Alliance, Xyreliths shouldn’t even be on the space port.. And because nobody wants to die a painful and horrifying death to neurotoxins today, I’m handed over by the slimy Oozarians with little fanfare. Fine, screw the dowery, screw this Class 5D planet and screw the 7ft death touch alien who thinks he’s mated to me. I’ve been running for twenty years, it shouldn't be too hard to escape him too. Right?
XOXO Ali
